Steering Racks
When a steering rack comes into our workshop for chroming, we check that the centres are running true. We measure the existing size with a micrometer, then we grind it until all the marks and defects are gone.
Next we rack it up, masking up the areas that aren’t to be chromed. Then it goes into the tank overnight depending on how much plating it needs. When we unrack it, we take it to the grinding shop and finish grind it.
We check it with the micrometer to ensure it is back to it’s original size and finish polish to a refined high quality finish.
